Databases

Over the past 25 years we have developed a series of databases dealing with World War II. In all of our databases, each field is completely searchable which allows for an unprecedent flexibility in our search options. Prices may vary because of the search criteria but no one individual record cost exceeds $6.00. Fees are generally less if ordered in volume.

Casualty Database

The most recent addition is the Casualty Database. It lists 405,809 members of the Armed Forces lost during the conflict. Of that total, 553 were women. The releasable fields of each record are the name, rank, serial number, date of death, disposition code, temporary burial information/final burial information, home state, county/town, gender (females only), unit, group, location of loss, and remarks. See example below.

Name, rank and serial number are consistent for all entries.

Branch- 1=US Army, 2= US Navy, 3= US Marine Corps, 4= US Coast Guard, 11=US Army Air Force.

Navy, Marine and Coast Guard casualties are listed by home state and then the city and town. Army and Army Air Force are listed by homestate and then the county.

Code is disposition code. there are seven (1-7) total. 1- Final burial in accordance with the wishes of the next of kin. 2- Final burial in accordance with administrative decision. 3- Buried at Sea in accordance with the wishes of the next-of-kin, 4-Buried at Sea, administrative decision, 5- Do not disturb, 6- Non-recoverable (missing), 7- Case closed.

DOD-Date of Death is year, month, day.

Burials. The "6" alone in the disposition and burials column indicates "non-recoverable" (missing). Of the eight digit numbers, the first four are where the body was held pending the wishes of the next-of-kin. The second four are the final resting place.

Remaining fields are self-explanitory.

Prisoner of War Database (POW)

This database contains the names of the 110,082 American POWs that survived the war. Those that were executed or died of disease appear in the casualty database with the appropriate remarks according to our research.
